In a counter measure, the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Chargé d'Affairs of the British Embassy in Tehran against the background of the targeting of the Mercer Street. During the meeting, the head of the Western European Department of the Iranian Foreign Ministry described Iran's accusation of attacking this ship as an "urgent" accusation.
