The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Chargé d'Affaires of the British Embassy in Tehran

In retaliation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran summoned the Chargé d'Affaires of the British Embassy in Tehran in connection with the attack on the Mercer Street ship. The head of the Foreign Office's Third Western Europe Office, in a meeting with the British embassy charge d'affaires, called the Iranian attack on the ship an "accelerated charge."
