US warns of "severe consequences" for Iranian missile attack

"Netanyahu should know that Iran is not after war but stands strong against all threats," Iran's president Mansour Pezeshkian said following the country's missile attack on Israel.

"This is just one iota of our power. Don't pick a fight with Iran," he posted on X.

Iranian commercial air space remained open despite the missile salvo launched by authorities against Israel on Tuesday, Iranian social media users said.

Meanwhile, Israel closed its own skies to commercial aviation.

Iran's mission to the UN said on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic's attack on Israel was justified retaliation for Israel's attacks on its citizens and interests.

"Iran’s legal, rational, and legitimate response to the terrorist acts of the Zionist regime—which involved targeting Iranian nationals and interests and infringing upon the national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran—has been duly carried out," the mission said in a post on X.

"Should the Zionist regime dare to respond or commit further acts of malevolence, a subsequent and crushing response will ensue. Regional states and the Zionists’ supporters are advised to part ways with the regime."

"This war was totally preventable," Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump said in a post on social media website Truth Social, appearing to refer to an Iranian military attack on Israel on Tuesday.

"It should have never happened. if i were president, it would not have happened!"

Meanwhile Israel's airports authority had closed the country's skies to commercial aviation.
